Indian Women’s team is in preparation for U18 SAFF Women’s Championship, 2018 and AFC U19 Championship – Qualifiers/Championship with an aim to showcase the best of their performance at International level.
This position will be responsible for coaching and providing direction to the Women footballers so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork in women’s football.
The base of the team is Pan India, India, but the team travels to other countries frequently. The incumbent will be expected to travel and stay with the team as per the existing tour plans.
Lead and work in concert with the team staff that will include the team assistant coach, goalkeeping coach, physio, team manager & others, keeping the goal of sustaining the team’s development as top priority;
Make efficient use of the available resources. Seek financial approvals from the team manager wherever required;
Work in concert with the Scouting department to conduct scouting programmes and trials;
Maintain detailed calendars and reports of the team’s programme and results. Present reports to the AIFF Technical Committee at regular intervals &/or when requested;
Maintain a rapport with non-technical departments in AIFF like media, logistics, etc.;
Ensure effective coaching direction, leadership, organisation and communication within the Women’s National team (WNT) environments;
Coach the WNT including managing all aspects of training and competition programmes, technical and tactical strategies and overall strategic direction;
Select players to play for the WNT;
Communicate with related clubs where required in relation to player availability and other relevant issues;
Assist in developing and reinforcing a team culture that is supportive, professional and meets the needs of the players and team management;
Provide high quality training and competition opportunities, including effective high performance coaching, integrating international trends and innovations into the daily training environment and national team’s camps/tours where appropriate;
Research and compile tactical information on opposition teams and players;
Establish a supportive environment in which players and team management are able to reach their potential;
In conjunction with Indian Football, assist in the management of ancillary staff, including assistant coaches, team management and medical staff;
Ensure that the players’ behaviour on and off the pitch whilst on duty complies with the Indian Football Code of Conduct and meets the highest standards of professionalism;
Assist in the development and management of Individual Performance Plans (IPP’s) for targeted players;
Participate in Indian Football high performance planning and participate at workshops and other high performance events as and when required;
Participate in/lead/contribute to any seminars/teaching programmes/conferences/etc. organised by the key stakeholders viz., All India Football Federation &/or the Sports Authority of India in relation to the incumbent’s domain of expertise.
Key Performance Indicators:
To be established and reviewed in consultation with the Acting Technical Director and Women’s Department. To be presented to the key stakeholders, if asked for.
Minimum Coaching AFC “B” License or equivalent
At least 5 years of experience as a football coach of a national team/s.
Former National and International level player Preferred.
A post-graduate certification/degree in a sports-related field will be a plus.
Good communicator in English and Hindi. Other languages will be an added plus.
Pleasing personality; willing and able to strike rapport with Girls from different cultures in an environment of language limitations.
Proven leadership skills and respectful attitude towards subordinates in high-pressure moments.
Knowledge and understanding of player development trends
Willing and able to leave a legacy for the athletes, Indian football and/or Indian sport in general in the area of coaching.
A satisfactory level of ability in using applications like Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
? Cover letter/CV should mention references from recognised national federations/associations with whom the candidate has worked.
? Candidates should be willing to produce documents, as asked for, for background checks/due diligence. The documents will include, among others, original certificates in support of date of birth, educational & professional qualifications, experience certificates, etc. along with one set of self-attested photocopies.
? Shortlisted candidates will be contacted within a fortnight of the application deadline. Shortlisted candidates should be ready to present themselves for interview/s in person within a fortnight or earlier. In certain unavoidable circumstances, the interview/s could be conducted through a webcam over the internet. Related travel & lodging/boarding expenses will have to be borne by the candidate. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview/s.
? The selected candidate will be expected to join the Indian Women’s team immediately/latest within a week of selection. The joining will occur at the venue/country where the team will be training at that point in time.
? As the job involves constant travel, the candidates are expected to hold a valid passport and should be able to produce documents, if asked for, to prove the worthiness to travel.
