His achievements includes: AFC Challenge Cup, 2008, ONGC Nehru Cup, 2009, ONGC Nehru Cup, 2007 & ONGC I-league 2008/09

Brief Description


Gouramangi Moirangthem , the Formidable wall of Indian football has certainly came a long way in very short span of time and is raring to go and mark his name in the world football.
The Manipuri lad who made his International debut against Indonesia in 2003 has now become a household name in his home town, where football is no less than a religion.
For Gouramangi, Nehru Cup 2007 and AFC Challenge cup 2008 was the turning point of his carrier as the young defender stood firm at the back giving brilliant performances in each passing game.
Mangi as he is known popularly was also a member of ONGC Nehru Cup 2009 winning team, where India defended its title defeating Syria in the finals.
H e further escalated his great form and was instrumental in Churchill Brothers maiden I-league victory and was adjudged as the Best Defender of the ONGC I-League 2008-09.
The guy from Sekmai Village, Manipur made his club debut in 2004, when he was signed by Dempo, followed by Mahindra United in 2005 and Sporting Clube-de Goa in 2006.
Since 2007, the tall defender has been with Churchill Brothers and it wouldn’t be wrong to state that, with Churchill he made his mark in the Indian football.
The Churchill centre-back is all set to play an important role in the AFC Asian Cup 2011 that will be held in January 2011 where India is clubbed with Asian giants like, South Korea, Australia and Bahrain.
