BRIEF HISTORY:

Oil India Limited was registered and incorporated on 18^th February’1959. Football Team/Club was formed in the year 1964. Thereafter the club played in various reputed tournaments and displayed good performance and result. To mention a few, in the year 1976 -77 in the DCM Trophy at Delhi the team reached the Semi-final stage. The result is shown below-

Thereafter, the team has participated in all big tournaments in the country from time to time and won against all reputed big Clubs. The team played in Durand Cup in Delhi, Independence Cup in Nagaon, Bordoloi Trophy in Guwahati on several occasions. In view of excellent performance Oil India Football Team is now one of the tope teams in the North East Region. The Oil India team has won the Independence Cup for three times previously and also runners up in Bordoloi Trophy.

Year – 2006 :

Winner of Kalinga Cup Football Tournament held at Cuttack
Winner of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board Inter Unit football meet.

Year – 2007 :

Winner of Assam Club Football Championship
Reached at Semi Final in Bordoloi Trophy and lost against Bangkok Port Authority, Thailand by 1-2 after keen contest.. In quarter final won against Vassco Sports Club, Goa by 3-2.
