Brief History

Indian Bank a premier bank owned by the Government of India. A front runner in specialized banking and diversified banking activities. A pioneer in introducing the latest technology in banking and leader in rural development.

Indian Bank is a familiar name in Indian Sports. It has been supporting sports activities for more than three decades. Today it boasts of teams in 9 disciplines like

Athletics, Basketball, carom, Chess, Cricket, Football, Hockey Table tennis, and  Volleyball. We have about 125 active sports persons, out of which more than 30 have represented country in Junior/Senior International competitions. The Central Sports Committee is in charge of the entire sports activities of the bank. We have a recruitment policy to recruit talented sports persons and promotion policy to the achievers in the national and international events. This year we have recruited 15 outstanding sports persons to the athletics, basketball, cricket, football, hockey and volleyball.
