HISTORY OF “CHIRAG” UNITED SPORTS CLUB

United Sports Club was previously known as “Ever Ready Association” in the scenario of Indian Football. It was established in the year 1927. Though it is a very old club, but till the year 1993 it was playing the junior league in Kolkata Football.  In the year 1994-95 this present management took charge of the team & in the next eight years the team reaches the premier division of the local league.

This bunch of enthusiastic management people has something still to dream, & it was to take the team to the premier division of the National Football, to participate in the most prestigious & glamorous “I” league. It was a continuous effort for four years, it was very close three times, but could not be achieved. In the year 2007, ultimately the club reaches its goal & qualified in the first division of “I” league. Now it’s a matter of keeping the head high & keep the journey on……

The management of the club always had an intention to build up a professional structure as far as possible. During the days of success the club was enough lucky to get the attention of the sponsors, even in the junior division. In these years, LYNX INDIA LIMITED, OFFICER”S CHOICE, AVI AIRCONDITION was the title sponsors. Since 2006-07 the management of the club decided to change the name of the Club, from Ever-Ready Association to United Sports Club. In the same year the club got “RP INFOSYSTEMS LTD” as the prime sponsors & prefixed with the name of their popular brand “CHIRAG” (Computers) famous throughout the nation.

1^st Colour – Joursey & Pant – Violet, Stockings – White

2^nd Colour - Joursey & Pant – White-Orange, Stockings – White

3) ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE “I” LEAGUE & FEDERATION CUP

The team was playing the Second division “I” league for the last four years, i.e. since 2002-03. Except one year 2005-06, the team always qualified in super six, but only breakthrough the barriers in the last year. In the “Federation Cup” the result is never so impressive & could never got past the first stage.

5) PLAYERS TO BE WATCHED THIS SEASON :

Senior players like Basudev Mondal, Dulal Biswas, Sasty Duley, Sanjiv Maria (All ex-international) are always to be watched. Some promising footballers like Sankar Oraon, Lal Malswamma Hmar, Gautam Debnath, Kingshuk Debnath, Dhanrajan R, Soumik Chakraborty posses a lot of talent.
