JCT Mills Football Club, Phagwara is known as one of the major Football Club in North India.

With the direct initiative of our worthy Chairman & Managing Director Mr.M.M.Thapar,  JCT Mills Football Club was established in the year 1971 with all the local-Punjabi players. Luckily, JCT Mills got talented young players in its first batch which came into limelight in a short span of time because of its performance.  Late Sh.G.S.Virk, was assigned all the ground work who was Sports Supervisor of the mills at that time and later became its first Coach and discharged his duty as Coach up to the year 1992.

In the year 1974, great footballer S.Inder Singh and few senior players from Leaders Club, Jalandhar, joined JCT and within the short span of time, JCT became one of the famous and popular club of the North India. S.Inder Singh, Arjuna Awardee & S.Parminder Singh, Player of the decade (1980-1990), both played for Asian All Star Football Team and are still attached with the JCT Mills Football Club. S.Parminder Singh played for Asian All Star Football Team, when he was the member of JCT Mills Football Club.

Big names in Indian Football like I.M.Vijayan, Bhaichung Bhutia,Joe Paul Anchery, Stephen Abarowei etc., played for JCT.  I.M.Vijayan got the prestigious Arjuna Award when he was the member of JCT Mills Football Club.  Our Coach Mr.Sukhvinder Singh, had the honour to work with All India Football Federation for almost 8 years I.e. Four Years with Under-16 & Under-19 Teams (1986-1990) and Four Years with Senior National Team (1999-2002). From the year 1992 to 1997 JCT had won everything what the Indian Football has to offer.  JCT had won all the major tournaments of India namely Inaugural NFL in the year 1996, Durand in the years 1976, 1983, 1987, 1992 & 1996,  Federation Cup in the years 1995 & 1996, Scissors Cup in the year 1995,  IFA Shield in the year 1996 (in this tournament JCT is the only Indian Club except Kolkata Clubs which won IFA Shield) and Rovers Cup in the year 1997.  JCT had participated in all the ten National Football Leagues.
